Best Podcast
I’ve been listening to all the movie review podcasts out there and yours is the best. Format is great and the personalities really shine through. I’m waiting for “Almost Famous” and “That Thing You Do” to be reviewed. Keep up the great work!

Define “Rewatchable?”
No one has ever heard of this movie. How can it be rewatchable? Love this podcast, but please cover movies that people have actually rewatched! How did they chose this movie over Animal House or The Blues Brothers?? Disappointed!

ONE Episode Review
Just listened to the Alien review and it was great! Five stars across the board. My favorite part was the sound clips of the actual movie, genius! I’ve never heard sound clips of the actual movie in a podcast and it was surprising. It’s one of my favorite movies and I could visually piece together the scene in my head just from hearing the audio and I loved that. GREAT natural chemistry between the hosts which is always a must for a great podcast. Very funny and genuine. Subscribed and looking forward to listening to the rest.

Imagine a podcast with your friends…only with more ambition & fame 🤓😎
‘The Rewatchables’ is the podcast that includes wildly tangential convos about films with my best friends from Jersey that I NEVER had. I was introduced to this podcast while listening to Chris Ryan from ‘The Watch’ & I only was aware of Phil Simmons as a sports commentator. I only started listening at the tail end of 2023 (I believe it was ‘The Equalizer’ episode with Bill’s dad that got me hooked) and this show is easily in my Top 5 weekly podcasts listens. Thanks for all the great films and discussions.

Bill Knows How To Pick ‘Em
Bill Simmons is a master of both sports and movies, a fact that all listeners can attest to. However, his greatest talent lies in his ability to assemble an incredible cast of super podcasters, each with their own distinct personalities and talents. If you haven't explored all the podcasts within Bill’s podcast empire, it's time to get in it. Keep up the great work, Bill! Jeff

It’s a fave
I liiiiive for this podcast and tell everyone about it, so generally, please keep it up! That said, this season has been rough- lots of niche and heavy rewatches; hoping we can go back to classics, bangers, and universally loved flicks:)

BILL. For the love of god man!
Stop threatening the end of the rewatchables. This podcast is the ONLY thing that gets me thru the work week!

Big chill
Big Chill has everything to do about class. It was a bit of a dud- with an amazing sound track. If your podcast was edited to an hour, I’d subscribe.

Manchester by the Sea name change
First time listening to the show. Bill Simmons is from MA but doesn’t know how MBTS got its new name. To differentiate from Manchester NH. Hosts are all smug and annoying. Talking in their own dork code and falling all over each other. Despite watching this movie 3x’s Bill gets many things wrong. Confuses the fight scenes. Forgets that Lee’s wife passed out during fire and had to be carried out. It was Lee who yelled “don’t drive drunk”. 3 annoying dorks not nearly as cleaver as they think they are.

Chris
I just listened to the Manchester by the Sea episode. As always great content from all three. However, there HAS to be a way to get CR to stop interrupting every single time somebody starts to speak. It’s a bummer because CR has great things to say so it’s not that I don’t want to hear from him. I just don’t understand why he has to cut everybody off. Bill and Sean both seem to have figured out the rhythm of when to jump in and when to let a point breathe and CR does not understand that.

As far as “Shot Callers” goes, common sense dictates that for a movie to be “rewatchable”, one should have probably have heard about it in the first place. Stop trying to prove how cool you guys are and actually talk about one of the 8 billion movies people have heard about.

It’s amazing that you STILL think people want to hear from Craig. That mic must be caked with spit.

Like, are you serious here? Harrison Ford? Sigourney Weaver? Major major oversight:

Very Unserious People
Manchester by the Sea is so unbelievably far from a “rewatchable” this show has lost the script. That movie is the definition of a one and done. In addition, the live shows are poor quality and unlistenable. And then throw in all the hate from Van who is an actual living piece of human excrement. Yuck. The white guilt and self hate emanates from Bill and his loser snowflake cronies. PASS!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW
Bill and team, thanks so much for doing this show and talking through the so many details that are important but people tend to forget about. My favorite is Rounders but now this gives me a list of movies to watch too ;). Will you do Rush Hour and other 90’s classics???

About “Internal Affairs”
Great pod. As always. Not a picky-nits: you guys left out the 1990 movie Nick Nolte did do: “Q&A” an at-times demented film from Sidney Lumet. I know, Lumet was never demented. But that film is close. But you brilliantly hit on a subgenre of crime films that bore fruit in the early 1990s: corrupt cops.

Pretty Good
I mostly enjoy it. It does take me out of it when the hosts loudly laugh and talk over each other, and also there are a lot of sports references that leave me alienated— I’m here for movies. Lately when I select an episode it plays a different one— not sure what’s happening.

12 Monkeys?
Love this podcast and happy my friend recommended it. I’ve gone back but couldn’t find a 12 Monkeys rewatch!

The live shows are rough
Chris Ryan tries too hard as is- put him in front of an audience and he’s insufferably annoying. I like this podcast but can’t bear the live eps.

Apex challenge
Love the pod. Just re-listened to the Axe murderer episode. Gotta mention a couple “other” instances: Scottish wedding convo has to address Braveheart. Then, the convertible also appears in the movie Sneakers?!).
MurphBosNova
No live shows
Mallory might be the most insufferable person to hear and I can’t even fathom her after one drink. Keep Van off the pods and just stick with the original 3. I skip any live or Van show. Also, redo the Dumb and Dumber episode, that’s a sin to keep in the cannon.

Everything is offensive to these guys!
So you wanna hear a discussion about one of your favorite movies? Well, get prepared for a lecture from these “holier-than-thou” podcasters who will spend the first ten minutes of any random show discussing how you should be offended by “this” movie. Seriously, I don’t want to hear a PC diatribe about how “offensive” this or that movie is to them and their fellow snowflakes. They are part of the reason why there are no more good comedies. Softer than puppy doo-doo on a Arizona sidewalk in July. I’ll take a pass on their so-called breakdowns because I am sick of PC politics infecting and destroying everything I enjoy.

Are live shows terrible?
I consider myself a Rewatchables “superfan.” I’m one of those psychos who listen even when I have not seen the movie, even when that movie is “Sea of Love.” Unfortunately, I think these live shows are terrible. Worse sound quality, less flow. I can’t exactly explain it, but I’ve found myself skipping these. And they’re burning movies I actually like. I wrote the review because I wondered if I’m the only one who dislikes the live show?

FigCapreseWhat!?
Fantastic show, huge file sizes
Lurve the show, but the episode downloads are oddly large. Why is that? It’s not a show about about fidelity in jazz reissues or something

Live Episodes a winner
At first I thought this meant the show had run its course but the new energy and focus on the movie with the live audience has eliminated some of the lengthy off topic detours the recorded shows have taken lately. And we’re back to true rewatchable movies. More please!

Live Shows…
Please just stop with the live shows. A live podcast is an automatic skip for me and I hope many others. We are already listening to a conversation we cannot take part in and now we have to listen to a performance conversation? Pass. It dates the pod so much and the stops and starts because of the audience makes it worse too. I mean now the listener has to hear an audience react when the listener is supposed to be the audience. But hey more money for you and you get to feel your ego inflate as those sad souls clap on command for you.

Lost its charm quickly
The earliest episodes with Simmons, Ryan and Fennessey had a joy and a charm to them and the movies were actually rewatchable. As time went on and hosts were added it became banal content generation. By the time Van Lathan was added as a host the paucity of ideas was clear; let’s add a host who replaces nouns, verbs and adverbs with swear words. The occasional swear can add excitement or emphasis. I thought the Ringer was a group of writers also recording podcasts. Why all the cursing? Oh well… still a few early gems worth listening to.

Need a Re-Superbad
The first Superbad Rewatchables is absolutely awful. Bill misses so many of the best parts of the movie and the majority of his takes on the movie are just awful. We need another go with Superbad, maybe with Craig, Fennessey, and another person or two, but Bill should be nowhere near it

Enough with the same impression
I look forward to this pod every week. It’s like listening to my friends talking about movies. My one complaint? We’ve had enough of the Wayne Jenkins impression at the end of every episode. It was funny the first five times. Now it’s just loud and annoying. I mute the sound every time until it’s over. I’m not sure why they think this is still so funny.

Absolutely love the show, but…
I love this show. I save it for my runs as my “treat” listen and turn to it nightly for ideas on what to watch next. But I have one critique that I hope is addressed as it could have a hugely positive impact on the show overall. It needs a feminine POV more often in the episodes themselves and also suggesting the chosen films. There are so many times when the all-make presenters are all in agreement about a critique or opinion that I feel so confident would be viewed differently if a woman were looking at that same scene or character, or when a woman might nominate an entirely different set of rewatchable scenes perhaps. I don’t mean to imply that the presenters aren’t in any way sexist, it’s really just a matter of preference and perception that can often go hand in hand with gender. Given a war movie for example, my husband will be so engaged and alert during battle scenes, whereas I will tend to want to watch more scenes with dialogue and plot development. I really hope the show is able to incorporate at least one female POV in every episode moving forward. I had to turn off an episode I was really excited to listen to the other day because halfway through, I was so frustrated by a series of comments that I am certain and would’ve had a different response had a woman been present in the conversation.

In the Line of Fire
I can’t get past your comment putting Sandra Locke down as “not a good actress”. Have you done your research on that one? She has an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actress for the Heart is a Lonely Hunter, 1968 where she gives an exquisite performance. How many noms does Rene Russo have? I can’t find any but you guys are better sleuths than I am.

Great Pod!!!
Hope to hear the Great Outdoors down the line

This show used to be better
My kingdom for just one of these guys to tell Chris Ryan mid-episode that we're not sitting at a table in the high school cafeteria and therefore he doesn't have to keep screaming the same unfunny curse-laden bit over and over
