Love the podcast ! I just want to point out, in the episode titled “I’m That Girl”, Beyoncé’s lyrics in the song “Heated” were misread in the episode & in turn misinterpreted. Bey said “Uncle Johnny made my dress” - in a proud way, bc her dress was absolutely fly…. She continued to say “that cheap spandex, she looks a mess” referring to that of another girl’s dress.

Jenna and Wesley are two of the most thoughtful and mindful culture critics. I love getting their take on new music, TV, or movies, and I get a lot of recommendations from their conversations too. I especially love their conversations about music. I felt like Wesley's episode about Philly was unexpected but one of the best!

Interesting point made by Wesley that celebrities may exist in a racially nether category. People will excuse bad behavior as long as you're making money for the system.

I’m sure it’s generational, but Kanye never resonated for me. However, listening to the grief (yes, grief) that both of you feel as you contextualize this very sick individual, someone who has had such an impact, is deeply moving. The latest (AMAZING) ep “America’s Got a Problem” cuts off prematurely 😨

I’m in shock after listening to the Kanye episode. The episode spent about 30 seconds mentioning the recent horrific antisemetic comments that Kanye has said. It mentioned 0 times the increase in hate crimes this past month against Jews as a result of his comments. The focus was on incidents that occurred 2 months ago- rather than anything he has said in the last 2 weeks. No mention of the multiple targeted synagogues after his speech or other hate crimes. Why is there a fear of calling out anti Semitism? Please, Call out hate wherever it is, and whoever it targets. What is the fear of addressing anti semitism head on, and why is it the remaining acceptable form of hate? Why use the comments that Kanye has recently used to put Jews in danger as a prompt to discuss hate towards other groups as the focus?

You two (and your team) are freaking brilliant and I am so grateful for this podcast. Keep on shining and letting us bask alongside.

I love this show but this season is literally Beyoncé, Beyoncé, Beyoncé. And like I get it her new album was great but can we move on???? Idk. I’m probably like the only person that just isn’t moved by her I guess. I’ll probably sit the remainder of this season out until y’all get off her. 5 stars tho because I still love y’all.

There is something about the two of you together that is aweseome; something like poetry I always listen in the car so I can really listen to what is being said. Both Wesley and Jenna are smart and have interesting things to say. I just wish Wesley would….say less and let Jenna talk more. As it is, it seems like she can barely get a word in edgewise and is reduced to enthusiastic “uh uh s” and “MMM” over and over. It’s to the point where I can’t even stand to listen anymore. Give Jenna her own show!!

There are few things that one can enjoy and feel better for it … this is one of those things. To be clear, there is no category for something so delicious - whether it’s a food, a book, a show. Something truly delicious satisfies in a way that leaves you perfectly content. No need to binge. No need to worry about when you will get more. This podcast is delicious. Cheers.

You two! I think I heard an excerpt some time in early ‘21, opining on Prince, Spike and the N word. The dialogue, the rawness, the sharing of experience, F@#%! BLEW. MY. MIND. When you played the new intro music, sometime around Episode 50, it so reminded me of the complex horns in those moments in Bamboozled (Spike’s most underrated) when Damon Wayans is self-actualizing his culture, oppression and race. I need a new emoji that shows that Muah! kiss of perfection, with the fingertips to the lips, y’a know?!

Love love love the richness and sensitivity with which you explore politics, entertainment and out collective experience as Americans. I have binged my way through every episode and can’t wait for more Wesley and Jenna. Your beautiful minds, hearts and voices are so essential in these times.

This podcast is clearly one of my favorites. The topics are always so engaging, and the hosts so knowledgeable. I am a big fan of Wesley Morris. His wit is unmatched and his analysis is always though provoking! -CJFT

This has been one of my favorite podcasts for years! Wesley is such an amazing podcast host and has the most unique way of looking at things. I could listen to him all day. Loved the new format, loved the old one, keep it up! <3

I generally really like this show, particularly some of the insights the hosts have on popular culture (I really appreciated their thoughts on High Fidelity, it made me think about the (tragically canceled) show in a much deeper light. I do think this hosts need to check some of their own biases though, such as when discussing Jewish people. Despite mentioning WWII multiple times throughout the podcast, the Holocaust is never mentioned, even though 6 million Jews were targeted for extermination explicitly because of their race. When discussing Jewish characters and public figures, showing an appreciation for the 2,000 years of persecution and antisemitism (also currently one of the most practiced hate crimes in the US), would be a strong way to show the hosts have a more holistic relationship with understanding race, ethnicity, and identities they aren’t as familiar with.

Especially struck by Jenna’s smart analysis of this film.

5 minutes in, and I am transported back to seasons past, the unseen but palpable energy between Wesley and Jenna. Y’all, back together, is pulling on my heartstrings. Wonderful season in all, but nothing like this dynamic duo! 🖤🖤

I’ve never rated or written a review for a podcast. The ad for this show is so annoying I came here just to give it 1 star. I hear this ad constantly and will never listen to the show because it’s the most obnoxious thing I’ve ever heard. I can’t get to the fast forward button fast enough when it comes on.

I gave this pod cast a try because I love hearing peoples deep thoughts on issues. Some of the episodes where great. However one particular one rubbed me the wrong way which lead me to never listen to it again. They were talking about white people and asking what their culture is which is ignorant and I don’t know what’s with Americans thinking that all people who are l light complected are the same. they’re all different and they all have different cultures. Just like not every black person or middle eastern has the same culture. They also went on a Tangent about the movie silent place and how it’s a white privilege movie because no black person owns property like. I found this comical because I live in the country and there are many black farmers some of which have much better places then the white farmers Do. This is just A podcast of pure American ignorance

I am enjoying the new format with interviews more so than the previous format. I just can’t get enough Wesley Morris and very much appreciate his perspective. Much love.

But when is Jenna gonna be done and come back to balance this thing on out? Wesley — you my boy but baby girl you know you have some paw paw taste. Love you both!

So happy you’re back. I like Jenna, and clearly W likes Jenna, but I hang on bc I am almost always moved by Wesley and his writings in the paper. Great guests and great thoughtfulness from the host and his interaction with the guests. So happy you’re back.

Always relevant but never in a rush to be trendy. Love the research that goes into each episode, as well as the host’s willingness to live in the tension of subjects that have grey areas.

There are so many great things to say about this show and its hosts. Wesley and Jenna bring incredible energy, sharp analysis, and endless curiosity to the topics they cover in every single episode. Their conversations are often humorous, often heartfelt, and always enlightening. Still Processing is consistently one of the first shows I recommend to folks searching for new podcasts sure to provide excellent pop culture analysis. If you’re looking for a place to start, Ep 56, Ep 108, or Ep 132 are all really strong individual episodes. Happy listening!

Wesley Morris is a gem. So bright (as in brilliant AND light-filled), so authentic, so sweet, vulnerable, wonderful insights…I love him. Jenna, I tolerate. I tolerate the affected new agey-ness. Her insights are sometimes hollow and very much of the prevailing sloganeering zeitgeist. Still Processing without Jenna is so much more enjoyable. Still Processing with Wesley and Parul Seghal would be an awesome duo. Sorry, but Jenna is dead weight and I don’t miss her. All the best to her but Wesley alone with various guests is such a treat.

One of my favorite podcast duo! Their take on social and racial issues are always on point. Favorite episodes are when they tackle celebrities like Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill or Dave Chappell and unpack their Black lived experience and how they create space in today’s culture. Looking forward to Jenna and Wesley get back to their original style and discuss current topics.

I am consistently floored by the sensitive, wise, and vulnerable conversations that Morris and Wortham cultivate. I find myself thinking about episodes weeks, sometimes months, later. I must share this podcast more than any other, and I’ve begun using some episodes in my high school English classroom, in conjunction with great writing and film. Thank you!

But I gotta say I hated the episode about method acting. I read the book. It was horrible. I am so sick of everyone talking about it. Isaac really missed the mark on this book.
