This was a great podcast. I hope that a new incarnation rises out of the dust.

The other two were good. The stories were interesting. But Isikoff kept on being the devil’s advocate to a ridiculous extent. I don’t know if he sincerely held those beliefs, but he was outrageous and should have been fired for his irrational behavior. For example, when Rudy Giuliani had his law license suspended for all of his ludicrous activities and probably illegal activities in court for Trump, Isikoff questioned whether that action by the Bar Association in whatever district that acted against Rudy could be going too far and might be a precursor to actions against attorneys undeserving of such sanctions in the future! Please! Isikoff just loved to argue the other side no matter how stupid his opinions were. I’m glad Isikoff is gone!

I enjoy the topics this podcast tackles, which I will miss since this pod is ending. But the idea of Isakoff no longer being at one single microphone is truly a relief and pleasure. He is my least favorite podcast presence of all the podcasts I consume; I really wish the pod could continue but without Isakoff. In the absence of that i will take what i can get. He is insufferable.

I so look forward to your podcasts. You guys have guests from both sides. You challenge the general you notion of things. Keep it up.

I'm gutted by the announcement today that Skullduggery is basically over! It's my absolute favorite podcast!! This is like breaking up with someone you're head over heels for!! What am I supposed to do now? There is no true replacement, not even from within the ever expanding Bari universe.

For the past 5 years I’ve had this podcast always to look forward to. I’ve gained great insights, you guys have given me a few chuckles, it’s really a shame you’re not going to continue into the new year. Nobody else in podcasting yet alone journalism is doing what skullduggery does…at least nobody does it well like you guys. Please don’t stop making new episodes.

This was a five star podcast until they added Victoria Basseti. She can’t utter a word without her far left bias shining through. Her full throated defense of California’s lengthy ballot counting process was a last straw for me. The show was much better when it was only Mike and Dan. Please, give Victoria the boot.

Can you please tell Mike to take time off the show? He's so negative, constantly, and consistently hostile toward Victoria, and he comes off as sexist. He also wears his politics on his sleeve, which I don't care for in a news person. I used to like the show way more your first year; it's gone downhill, in my opinion.

Listening to episode about Trump and the stolen documents. Every single source explains how and why Trump should be indicted. It starts with obstruction. These guys are trying to come up with the most ridiculous hot takes. Their poor guest has to take time to explain the obvious. These guys are trying to defend the most ridiculous scenarios. It gets old.

I am disappointed in michaels playing the devils advocate - injecting boulders in trumps latest crime - isn’t it already at a level of rage , that trump gets special treatment in his reocurrying and increasingly threatening criminal behavior , where to give Michael credit for taking a stance on what he feels is fair objections to the process , that could be defined as biased , and may be a perception of political punishment under the terms of law . I get it. But the public , people like me , have watched the trump crime syndicate continue crying wolf , continue stacking the courts , the rigging of the systems of law enforcement , with not a thought of guilt , if he can corrupt the agencies that can hold him responsible he can continue criming , and blaming those in charge of maintaining law and order , for witch hunts , and political attacks , for the purpose of escaping accountability with the added cherry on top of blaming , accusing , his enemies of his crimes as a delicious revenge dessert , that to this day , creates a threat from those reacting to false rhetoric driven to extremes , by means of violence against his personal enemies , sweetens the pot for trump to get away with anything he wants to , despite the damage to the nation, the punishment of those who dare disagree or those who hold him accountable for breaking the laws we all live by . Michael , the anger exploded in me , I found myself screaming at the phone , listening to your interrupting insinuations that trump may be being targeted for crimes others have escaped with lesser charges , if you are intentionally playing devils advocate , stop . By now , the question of whether trump is getting fair treatment , or not , is clear . Trump survives on the doubts people like you provide him , because MAGA takes any question , and uses it as evidence our DOJ - is actively victimizing him . Your inquiries only help him create a defense he feels legitimized by your question , it only gives him another excuse to blame our FBI - DOJ - it warrants a infinite piece of ordinary requests for definition , as proof , the left wing of the political world is definitely trying to frame trump , your reaction lends legitimacy to the extreme defenses now threatening our democracy . It’s infuriating , trunp has forever abused his power to escape justice , using methods to counter consequences, instead of being satisfied with an acquittal , or lack of charges , trump pushes our nose into his ability to crush legal means of stopping him from his worst impulses - actually crippled the state agencies from being able to prevent a threat from the Oval Office from continuing , and then bragging he has the power to shoot someone on fifth Avenue - and still continue the support he has enjoyed that led to his election status . And as we have watched him escape charges , impeachments , by using the provisions of the system against us , shutting down any attempt to stop his corruption , I’m tired of the liberal press giving crumbs to a crime syndicate , that only gets worse . We are tired of giving trump his alternative universe where he parades his immunity , and continues to enjoy people giving him more justice , leaving Americans the victims - as once again he alters his excuses , accuses the ethical attorney general of planting evidence , etc, harrasses the agencies that are expected to give trunp more than what he deserves , this climate of victimhood is helped to create by objections like yours , can anyone possibly stick to the language of how serious the crimes are he has committed , of ceasing to blur the crime as just a tick of a colorful president , lost in his identity , but not an actual threat that keeps on giving , ? Why doesn’t someone stop the compelling need to question all DOJ - has done to qualify the search warrant served toDonald Trump. By now , hesitations , questions of intent , by now , only serve trumps base , only give him the martyrdom he can not only evade justice , but allow trunp to serve violence on a platter , when the inability to believe trump is not getting his rights to escape justice , isn’t the time , right now , to see where handling himself with kitty gloves , allowed him to continue doing things against our government , has led ? Don’t you ever think supporting our DOJ - by accepting the terms of the warrant as valid , determined by the ever present resistance of trump to cooperate , to have faith in an agency that is listening to every word that reflects their commitment to committing retaliation in firms if threats abd violence on agencies just doing their job . Michael , you must acknowledge the anger in the other side of madness , while you are not concerned with the widening violent trump cult , that are actually acting upon their rage against those who are wrongly accused of framing their cult hero - only getting a faster trigger finger by the prevention to stop propaganda where it begins , already , the rational citizens , that recognize true crime when they see it , that allow the terms of justice to determine the guilty , to play out . Only to find , that crime , follows none of the rules we do , in the nane of justice , and they get away with breaking the law , and breaking the means of holding those accountable for breaking the laws most of us follow everyday , we are witnessing people like you give in to making sure your programs are equal , but there’s just one problem , one side , the criminal side , is consuming the oxygen , with investigations against them , and using the increase of investigations as a weapon , proof that the other side is trying to remove trunp , as a threat against their continued power -just remember those of us waiting patiently following the law giving trump every legal right , that he just uses against us . When trunps crimes are excused over over ,you should be mindful of the growing anger of the left watching again escape you should be aware of growing rage of rationals

Isikoff is good. Victoria is nothing but a partisan. I want straight down the middle stuff and Isikoff tries but its hard with an actual paid partisan on the show. I don’t understand why Victoria Bassetti is on the show. She should have her own opinion based podcast. She gives partisan talking points and not “news analysis.” It’s confusing

Oy, you guys are in DC, right? I am sure you know Secret Service Agents, ya? I do. I have known quite a few. They take their jobs very very deadly seriously. They protect the president. They are also the most patriotic people I have ever known. They put their duty to president higher than their patriotism. Therefore they obviously are going to dispute Cassidy Hutchison. End stop.

I won’t be listening to Skullduggery anymore. Isakov makes so many errors when he jumps to conclusions about things that haven’t even happened yet like he knows better than everyone else. I am done.

This would be an excellent podcast if only they could dump Isikoff. I find him increasingly annoying for many reasons. I hate it when he chuckles while delivering very disturbing news, opinions, commentary.

How about this: Mandatory paternity tests across the nation. If you have fathered more than 3 children not with the same woman (unless married to each), then you are tracked down through taxes or other means and then get a mandatory Vascectomy or face prison time under felony guidelines.

He’s just the worst

Victoria Bassetti is great. Michael Isikoff is awful. He’s like the overbearing, crazy uncle at Thanksgiving that pounds his fist on the table until everyone agrees with his opinion. Honestly, why doesn’t Isikoff listen to what people have to say, instead of constantly thinking that he’s right all the time? He’s condescending, disrespectful, and regularly interrupts both the other hosts and guests. He doesn’t have the best critical thinking skills, and his questions are usually straw man fallacy arguments. So many talented journalists out there, why keep Isikoff?

Listening to your last episode, starting at minute 24 was unbearable. Whoever is shuffling papers and sniffling needs to mute their microphone. I feel like I’m in a work meeting where two years into remote work and people still need to be reminded to mute themselves. It’s absolutely crazy that this is happening on a podcast.

I like the dynamic and deep dives.

Great content but Michael I needs to really observe his micro- and macro- aggression and dismissal of Victoria B. She has the patience of a saint and deserves better professionalism and respect.

Hadn’t listened in a while at just listened to 2 episodes and what a difference from a while ago. So much bickering now, makes hosts seem partisan.

I would like to comment on the Feb 7, 2022 episode regarding the Cheney/Kinzinger censure by pointing out what Adam Kinzinger himself said. He said it was insane of Ronna McDaniel to try to walk back the phrase “legitimate political discourse” because “we would not be having a January 6 committee that I am being condemned for if it was all non-violent.” If he understands what the RNC chair (and members) meant, there is not a lot up to further interpretation.

It used to be that the host of this podcast had decent guests and was somewhat open minded. He has turned into the absolute worst of “both sides have very fine people.” He has become an apologist for the media and an absolutely insufferable host. Anytime somebody with a different viewpoint express has a different opinion, he jumps all over them. He is rude. He bites in. The sound quality is absolutely awful. Listen happily if you love a family fight in your ears.

Adding Victoria Bassetti to the hosting lineup is a step in the right direction, but PLEASE it’s unfathomable you can’t find smart, knowledgeable & articulate female guests. Every week is a sausage fest. Isikoff is indeed unbearable, his sniggering and juvenile need for attention is creepy. I’m giving you guys one more month. If no improvement on the mix of guests, I’m deleting Skullduggery for good.

And stop talking over each other. You have a very good balance of views, good guests & topics. The stars are for that. However, SOUND IS CONSISTENTLY AWFUL. For a long time listener who uses headphones, I fear for my hearing and for my blood pressure. Isikoff is the worst at proper mic usage, especially when he is reading something. He obviously moves his head all over the place while speaking. C’mon Isikoff. Please correct the sound. I’m not willing to endure harm to my hearing, no matter how good your guests, topics and discussions are. Sound correction isn’t that hard to do. I’ve heard better sound from a guy in his closet than you guys produce and you are professional journalists. Get a sound guy to set you up and leave you directions so you can repeat them each broadcast. Please.

Isokoff is just not a talented host. He can’t seem to help himself when the spotlight is directed at other journalists (most specifically the interview with Woodward and costa). He comes off as conceited and jealous lol. Mayb just stick to print Michael!

I'm glad you are back. I really enjoy listening to your informative guests and the tough questions you ask.

This show is usually pretty good is it generally because of the quality of guests they break and because of Dan. I don’t really understand how Michael positions himself. I just listened to the Guantánamo episode and they had on the single most in formed reporter in the world on the issue. And Michael who by all accounts is an intelligent human being seemed more interested in demagoguing and yelling about 20 years then actually listening to somebody who has an exceptional amount of knowledge. To be frank if I wanted to get mad about the news I’d just watch cable TV, podcasts are supposed to be the place for more intelligent and nuanced discussion but Michael doesn’t seem interested in that.
