Mighty Parenting Review
Teens in the dating world vary from generation to generation. I listened to the [Mighty Parenting episode 140], and I learned about the new teen dating life and similarities with the old teen dating life during this episode. One thing that both Sandy Fowler (host) and JoBeth Evens (guest host) agree on that is common with all generations of dating is that when dating you need to have boundaries. I think this is extremely important because teens need to understand that boundaries are set to have a healthy relationship. This helps with opening up communication and having trust between partners. One difference between the generations is that now on social media teens are using dating apps, Snapchat, tik tok, and Instagram just to hook up. One way JoBeth on how to be safer when meeting someone online is to have a friend come with you to a restaurant with the person you are meeting up with to make sure the person you met online is who they say they are. Sandy and JoBeth's biggest advice for parents is to be open and ask questions like, “That’s nice you are meeting up with them, are any of your friends and their friends going to be there with you?” These are simple things to do just to assure your teens' safety when meeting someone online for the first time. In Conclusion with listening to this episode, I have learned how to support the teens in their new age of dating and to encourage teens to be safe and to set boundaries when dating. I would rate this podcast five stars. The advice for parents and teens was amazing. And for the recognition of how teens are dating now. It is very up to date and very insightful.

Loved this
Today, I listened to the podcast “Mighty Parenting”, episode [Help Teens Eliminate Excuses And Overcome Obstacles | Summer Owens | Episode 166], by Sandy Fowler. I picked this podcast because I am very interested in learning about how to keep people pushing through different obstacles in their lives and my life as well. This podcast has really helped me understand different ways to overcome different obstacles. One thing that stood out to me was the saying “So what?”. We heard a lot during the episode and I think that it has a very powerful message behind such a short phrase. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, we have to accept it and act on it. This means to actually do something about it rather than complaining about it and dwelling on it. I think this is an awesome way to go about life and I follow this a lot myself in life already, so I appreciate this thought. Another thing that stood out to me was that when children are struggling and are getting down on themselves, it is the most important time to remind them what they have accomplished already and that they can do whatever it is that they are trying to accomplish. One thing I think this episode could have improved on is getting to the content sooner. I enjoyed listening to Summer’s story at the beginning of the episode, but I feel like we were listening to the episode for 20 minutes before diving into the content. That is the only critique I have for this episode. Overall, I loved listening to this! I would give this a 4 out of 5 star rating. I have learned so much about the topic in this brief 45 minute episode.

Great Discussion
The podcast that I decided to listen to was, [The Effects of Family Arguments], by “Mighty Parenting.” I picked this one personally because growing up with three other siblings, there was always bickering going on around the house. So, when I saw this podcast, it resonated with me and reminded me of my own upbringing. One of the most memorable things that the podcast mentioned was how it talked about how some arguments are like certain species of trees where the pinecones only open up after a forest fire. They have to go through the pain of the forest fire to plant the seeds for future growth. It takes going through that pain in order to further oneself. That really stuck to me because arguing was seen as such a negative in my house growing up that any arguing was pointless. It was not encouraged. But this podcast mentions how it may be necessary for a person to grow as an individual. While people don’t want arguments all the time, they can help further ourselves by prompting us to think about how it may be affecting the other person and their perception of the situation. Some aspects of the podcast that makes me have a strong opinion is when they started talking about how people arguing can be attributed to unmet expectations. I thought about this for a while and would have to say that I definitely agree with this statement. People get angry because they get the idea that something will turn out the way they want it, but that’s not always true. Overall, this podcast was very interesting to listen to and I gave it four out of five stars as near the end, they started to diverge from the topic, although the material was still valuable.

Mighty Parent Review
In today’s generation it is important to teach teenagers about self-care, that’s why I chose to listen to a podcast called “Mighty Parenting”. What was most memorable about this podcast to me was the 5 self-care factors they talked about. These are physical, emotional, social, mental, and financial. This I thought was very interesting because these factors are what keep us balanced. One thing that I thought was confusing was that they talked about how most teens stopped being physically active. I think this is false because I feel like most teens stopped being active but as the time went on I feel like most teens starting to really get physically active. One part of the podcast that I have a very strong opinion about is when they were talking about how physical activity and just moving changes your mood to a positive one and just makes people happy. Another thing that I believed in that they talked about was that you can’t force children and teens to do things. If you do that they are just going to do the opposite and push away from that. Instead you just need to express concern about the topic. I rate this review 5 stars. I highly recommend this to any parent or even teenagers because this will really help you take care of yourself and help you understand what teens are going through.

Impressive!
I’m just so very impressed by Sandy and the conversations she has with guests. Knowing issues that affect teens and young adults is so important for parents and this is an important resource to add to a parent’s toolbox. Sandy covers topics that many parents need to hear about but that too many aren’t aware of or don’t know where to get good, reliable information. This should be on every parent’s podcast listening list.

Awesome guests, how about letting them talk
Like the guests on this podcast. Too bad the host doesn’t let them talk. She spent the first 11 minutes of her show about raising good men talking about the curseword in the book title. The only person obsessed about it was her...the rest of us wanted to hear from the author which eventually we did.

Thankful
Wow, I am so thankful I found this podcast! I felt defeated & a failure as a parent. After listening to podcast on 3/20, I feel super uplifted and understood! Parenting is difficult, but if we take it one day at a time we can do succeed, because we are all #mightyparents and need that extra support!

I love how open and honest this show is
The host keeps the topic on point and she weaves in past episodes to create a whole picture of parenting. So if you listen for a while, you simply make small changes and then all of a sudden you are doing things differently and getting better results. Parenting is really hard these days and it helps to hear what works from others who have been there

So appreciative!!
As my daughter begins high school this year, I feel I could certainly use guidance on how to be a good parent and an engaged parent in this new stage of her life. Thank you for offering such interesting and informative podcasts to make me feel “on top of things” and to make me think. These conversations also give me pertinent, relevant ideas and issues to talk to my teen about. I look forward to listening to more of your episodes (just started about a week ago). Thank you so much for your good work. 😊

THOUGHT AWAKENING!
Thank you so much for your podcast. I am a parent of one and need help communicating modestly and respectively and sometimes I just need better wording! I love that your messages remind me that this little person in my life has a life and a direction of their own (with guidance), but I don't need to push my ideals onto them as I assist them through their struggles and witness their joys.

Genuine and relatable
As of mom of two kids, the life my children will experience and be exposed to is vastly different from when I grew up. So far I am loving the parenting tips and easily implementable suggestions that I can incorporate into my busy parenting lifestyle. I highly recommend for parents of school aged and young adult children who want to get in touch with todays’ childhood experiences.
