Helpful information but..
As a younger treating clinician looking to expand my knowledge base, this podcast has a wealth of information that I wish I could give 5 stars by itself. However, I feel as though the field is lacking in the support department as a whole. I definitely do not feel support and encouragement while listening to the negativity regarding what everyone else is doing wrong while on their pedestals.

Too critical now
I initially found this beneficial, but now I just feel like it’s their time to bash other therapists and point out everything we do wrong. It doesn’t feel very motivational or empowering. Guess what - they know more than us and they will tell you that during every podcast

Trying to Love it...
I’m trying so hard to love it but the giggles and cackles at the expense of other SLPs isn’t amusing to me. Maybe shift to teaching instead of criticizing other therapists.

The best dysphagia podcast.

I was disappointed that home health not addressed/represented on COVID19 program on 3/30/20. Other than performing a questionnaire screen prior to visit, we have minimal PPE, are going from house to house with variable environments as well as seeing some very fragile patients.....

I wonder...
It was great to hear the perspective of the patient. I wonder though if some of his opinions were influenced by the two speech therapists hosting the podcast. Specifically, the negative talk about other “incompetent” speech therapists.

Episodes won’t play!
I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’ve restarted my iPhone and the podcast app several times over the course of a few weeks trying to listen to this podcast... majority of the episodes won’t play even when I try to download them first. The first few seconds play and then nothing. What’s going on?! None of the other podcasts I listen to have this problem.... otherwise, the two or three episodes I’ve gotten to listen to were fantastic! Three stars cause of technical difficulties and not being able to listen to episodes!

Losing interest in analogies
My listening enjoyment seems to be drifting...and I’ve listened to all episodes. In the beginning I completely agreed and still agree that we needed to do a better job in assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders. However, as I continue to listen I don’t hear a shift on the overall theme of the podcast which seems to be ‘here’s what you are doing wrong’. As I am truly trying to become better at my job by reading research and attending Dysphagia courses (including CTDM- big fan), the criticism (and analogies) start to wear on me. It seems my search will move on to SLP podcasts which include more information on research and developments in new treatment methods. So that as I start to ‘awaken’ - I can rise to the next level.

This podcast 🙌🏼
This podcast is extremely informative and discusses areas of our field that we need to continue to challenge and research. I have been labeled “liberal” with my recommendations following VFSS, however, listening to this podcast demonstrated to me the importance of not always sticking to what has always been done/recommended just because that is the norm. Can’t wait for each new episode! Thank you so much for sharing this information.

A Must Listen for SLPs
I am addicted to this podcast! It has been instrumental in helping me put all my clinical pieces together as I finish graduate school and head into my Clinical Fellowship. I love that the hosts are constantly challenging the discipline’s norms in dysphasia assessment and treatment, as I find myself regularly questioning whether some of the “standard” methods SLPs employ are appropriate and/or beneficial. I always feel I have more questions than answers after an episode, but I feel this sentiment is a positive indication that the hosts have touched on a subject that warrants further discussion and that they have been successful in getting my personal mental wheels turning. Thanks producing such a wonderful podcast!

Although I have been aware of this podcast for quite awhile, I have just begun to listen to a few episodes and am really enjoying it. The topics are important and timely, and well-covered. I look forward to catching up! BTW - I have a suggestion for a re-naming of the Clinical Swallowing Evaluation - I have always favored "Initial Dyshagia Consultation" - as that is more akin to what we are actually doing during that visit. Cheers!!

Great podcast!
This podcast is very educational as well as entertaining. They bring in great guests that bring a unique perspective to swallowing. As a graduate student new to the field, I would really appreciate posted show notes after each podcast so we can all make sure we don’t miss a reference/any information! Thank you!

Fun and educational
I am really enjoying this podcast. Although I know it probably shouldn’t replace reading research articles, this is an easy way for me to stay up to date on evidence based research. Dr. Humbert and Alicia seem really down to earth and I’ve enjoyed their guests too! I’ve already recommended this podcast to my SLP friends.

Participants spoke over one another and quoted very little research studies. Seemed to reflect personal clinical experiences, but less research. Discussed relevant issues to speech pathology.

Love this podcast!
I have enjoyed every episode I have listened too (still have a few more to catch up on). Each episode challenges me to step up to the plate and better my practice (as a home health SLP) for my patients! Thank you for this podcast!

Very insightful
We need to clarify the CSE for our profession to continue and be the best we can be. This issue is gaining more momentum every day. I enjoyed the roundtable approach of this podcast.
