I had heard some things about the disappearance of Peter Chadwick and his wife’s murder through some other TV show but this podcast included some additional information not provided on the TV show. Thanks for a good production.

I just can’t.

I just can’t listen to the narrator’s voice. There are some people who simply do not have the appropriate voice for radio, podcasts or audiobooks and she is definitely one of them.

It’s been a while since I first had seen this case in the headlines being a resident of south Orange County. Always looking at local crime this case intrigued me when I realized the crazy story he was trying to spin. From bailing out and going on the run.. what a story. Great podcast but as of 02/23/22 he just got to wasco for reception. Would have thought he got 25-L but he got a plea for 15.

Episodes were short and sometimes redundant. Definitely time for an update too! Seven years since he ran, let’s hear the NPD statements from 2022

I don’t understand what people are having such a cow about the voice of the girl telling story??? Sure, she’s no Keith Morrison (dateline’s smooth talking host) but I don’t hear anything off putting in her dialect… I’m halfway through the podcast and my heart aches for this family

I see lots of hateful comments about the narrator’s voice. I actually find her voice to be quite soothing and easy to listen to. I’m picky about my podcasts and narrators make or break a story for me. Don’t let the reviews deter you from giving this one a try.

I’m so happy that police are using podcasts as a format to help solve cold cases. When listening to these, remember they don’t have the budgets to hire professionals, and have slick production. They are here to serve one purpose, to solve a crime. Great job!

I’m only on episode 2, but not sure I can get through another episode of the females voice. At least I know he was captured 🤷‍♀️

The first thing I do before I listen to a Podcast or Audio book is check the voice! I really wanted to listen to this. Could not. Why don’t they take this into consideration? It’s VERY important in the success of the product.

Another great use of social media by NBPD which resulted in Chadwick’s capture! Awesome. Not so awesome is Jennifer’s voice. I know she’s the PD’s spokesperson, but why not get a professional narrator to do the narration? It’s pretty hard to listen to.

Darn I really wanted to like this. But upon hearing the narrator’s voice, I couldn’t continue past the first episode. Great story from what I’ve read but gosh, pick somebody whose voice isn’t so hard to hear!

I really wanted to like this podcast, but it honestly could have been done in 1 episode. If you’re into monotonous and repetitive information delivered by a voice that really isn’t a pleasant timbre (sorry), this podcast is for you.

Such a well done podcast about a crime and fugitive I never knew anything about....I do now. Not only was I made aware and now keeping an eye out for this horrible man but I was left with such admiration with the dedication, creativity and willingness to go above and beyond to bring justice to a beautiful soul and her family. Well done, well done, well done!

Since I enjoy true crime podcasts I have really enjoyed this one which comes from a completely different view point. I am impressed with the writing and the details that are shared, as well as the obvious concern for the victims. My only complaint is that the episodes are so darned short! Good job.

more of these! wow, law enforcement peeps who have no podcasting experience, whose sole motive is to catch this killer, i am deeply impressed! those who can’t get past the voice, get over yourselves, this isn’t a major podcast production with all the bells and whistles you may be accustomed to. it’s written and produced well and their heart and motives are most definitely in the right place. i almost did not listen due to reviews, then i’d be one less person on the lookout for a man whose time has most definitely come! and i thoroughly enjoyed listening to it! i wholeheartedly support this type of TC podcast, and hope to see many more develop!

I live in South San Diego!!! OMG I fill up my Camry at the Acro Gas Station on Del Sol BLVD. Its literally 3.5 miles from the Mexican border. I always chit-chat with the gas attendees! Next time I go, I am going to ask them what happened. i'll give you guys an update!!

This person has not gone to trial yet and as such is considered innocent. This podcast police railroading him. They’re the ones who belong in prison.

This might be an interesting story, but the narrator’s voice made me feel like my ears were going to bleed. I didn’t even make it to the end of the first episode

Narrator’s voice was a big turnoff. Couldn’t get more than a couple minutes in.

This is an innovative, riveting podcast brilliantly conceived by Newprt Beach PD PIA Manzella - excellently written, compassionate and compelling, brilliantly performed. The story of this cold, narcissistic man (doesn’t deserve the name of father) and his abandonment of his children following the gruesome murder of their mother shocks the conscience. Listen, share and follow this story!!!!

The content is very interesting. I hope they do more of these. However in the future they need to select a different narrator. This one has a high pitched not easy on the ears voice.

If they are trying to capture Chadwick why so slowly release details of the case? Upload it all at once and get a different spokesperson. Her voice is difficult to listen to.

I like the podcast. Interesting way for the police to hunt for a fugitive. 2 suggestions : the narrator needs to be different. Reads the notes well but doesn’t have a good voice for a podcast. Second , lose the music in between every few paragraphs. Besides that, it’s fine.

I live in Irvine so this podcast caught my attention. If not for the Interesting story, narrators voice is almost unbearable.

I like the concept of local depts with interesting vas’s making short, limited pods. As for the narrators voice, she’s an actual spokesperson so I cut her a huge break unlike other reviews.

This is such a cool idea! And I really wanted to like it. After reading people’s mean reviews about the narrator I was excited to give it a shot for myself, but sadly not even through the first episode and I understand them now. Unfortunately the narrator does make a huge difference in podcasts. Try a more dramatic/storyteller voice or tone and I can guarantee this would be a hit! Die hard true crime podcasters would dive into this concept for sure!

I really want to be invested in this story but the host’s voice is awful! Who approved it??

This story has pulled me in. I have so much respect for the Newport Beach PD for using the podcast format to bring attention to this crime and to attempt to captive this fugitive. I hope they continue with this case and maybe showcase some others as well. Great job!!!

A great idea but please use a different narrator. Not their fault cause it’s not what they do really. I would hire a professional to narrate this
