Always learning!
I love Chatter on Books. Great authors, stories, and personalities. Interesting and intelligent and learned hosts. Torie is masterful at asking the right questions and throwing in the most ridiculous ones also. Today I learned a new word, thanks Jamie. (Show off) Rob Dundon per·si·flage /ˈpərsəˌfläZH/ noun 1. light and slightly contemptuous mockery or banter.

The story sounded so intriguing that I ordered the book before the podcast was finished!

Powerfully intelligent,
This Chatter on Books podcast/book discussion crosses every genre with an in-depth, diverse exploration of novels with a sprinkling of Local DC Metro area sports. The conversations are intelligent, and I would love more book reports that are wholesomely entertaining for an entire family. Monday evening's "Chatter on Books" brings to mind the days of radio theater as a family sits listening, except now everyone has their head and earphones plugged in.

Tons of fun
Love this quirky, opinionated, fast-moving podcast that is ostensibly about books, but also about sports and anything else interesting that might come up along the way. The hosts are appallingly smart, accomplished, and erudite - well worth a listen.

Keep Chattering
The go to podcast for books. Torie Clarke, David Aldridge “moment”, & Jeanne McManus know how to have a good time.

Great podcast
Love Torie and David - like listening to friends. Michael is great, like listening to Cliff Clavin’s nephew. 😂🤣😂🤣

Fun and Smart Show
I continue to enjoy this podcast. I keep finding myself actually learning something by mistake. That’s certainly not their goal, but the discussion is so smart that I just can’t help myself. I have sought out several books that I never would have thought about out otherwise. Most recently, I loved The Final Revival of Opal & Nev. Now, if we could only get Aldridge to write a book….

A perfect DC Cocktail Hour
It’s like getting around and talking about books and current affairs with your DC friends, except they’re all wittier, smarter, and have better stories than your DC friends. Everyone is a delight, and the book talks are a perfect mix of inside baseball and summary.

Leftists on the loose
If you enjoy scared, leftist, racist anti-Americans trying to score virtue points this podcast is for you. Even though they are Tony Kornheiser alums they have no concept that people that don’t agree with them exist.

My Favorite Podcast.
While each podcast is structured around a book and it’s author, it is really about people and their ideas. Host Torie Clarke recruits top-notch authors, who are SO surprised — usually pleasantly — that this interview is completely unlike the other dozen they are doing each day on this promotional tour. Torie prepares her tail off so she can ask unexpected questions probing the background of the book and the life of the author. So much so that three-quarters of the way thru, Jamie McIntyre usually has to say, “Torie, are you going to ask her what the book is about?” It is even more entertaining because Torie has an odd, irreverent sense of humor that I love, and she and the co-hosts can draw on their own broad, fascinating experiences. Just the best!

Great, Entertaining, and Informative Podcast!!!
Definitely not your mother’s book club (in the right way)! Every week, I eagerly await the next installment from Torie, David, and their guests. Their chemistry, banter, and humor make you feel like you’re a part of the group. I have learned about books and authors I likely wouldn’t have picked up just browsing through a bookstore. Keep up the good work!!!

Great book referrals
I’ve purchased a number of books that were presented on the podcast from Brookline Booksmith. The latest, Stephanie Dray’s The Women of Chateau Lafayette, was amazing.

Where are those guys?
Thoroughly enjoy the podcast. But I would enjoy it more if Michael Kornheiser, Jeanne McManus, and Nigel still participated. Where are they? What happened? Inquiring minds want to know.

Best books podcast!
Can’t wait for my Tuesday morning walk because I know a new episode will drop! Love listening to Tori, David and Jamie talk about anything and everything, especially books, but even the sports! Keep on doing what you’re doing.

This show makes me smarter
I love the commentary from the team — this show makes me laugh and makes me think. The selection of books discussed is eclectic and exposes me to titles I would not have otherwise discovered.

Always Interesting

Great Podcast
Love listening to this podcast with their interesting guests. Sorry I am sorry slow reader or I would have kept up with the books and the shows. Eventually I will get to them all. One point: Michael is a fine young man but I wish he would pursue a tenured track position at an Ivy League school. I generally advance it 30 secs when he starts to speak...especially when he starts talking about his boys cognitive development.

Actual Sports
My earlier review below was supposed to be 5-star. Operator error! The April 28 edition was the best sports show anywhere in the past three months. The crew and guests covered NASCAR, Tennis, Michael Jordan series, NBA, Horse Racing, American Pharaoh, Secretariat, and the art of sports writing. Very little football thank God. Well done by all.

The best Football book🏈
I love your style at all the discussions and authors that are great story tellers. My best sport book. ( John Grisham ) Playing for Pizza and Bleachers. There is not one lawyer skulking the field or the locker room. Ray W.

Books, Kornheiser Connections, and a dash of booze
I love books and all of Tony Kornheiser’s regulars so they hooked me from the beginning. I really enjoy the variety of books and topics discussed. It’s the perfect mix of serious discussion, humor, and sharing of ideas.

Fantasticly Fun
More than just books. Every member of the crew brings great insite to the table.

Witty and wise
The regulars, led by Torie Clarke, never disappoint—each episode has witty but substantive “chatter” that informs and entertains. The featured authors and special guests have broadened my local and literary horizons. I really appreciate that different political backgrounds and occupations come together for intelligent, sane conversations. This show is a balm during disorienting times. If smart people can be together enjoying good food and drink while talking about challenging topics, the world isn’t decaying as much as I sometimes fear.

Learn something new every episode
I really like this podcast. I feel like I learn something new every episode. It seems like a varied selection of books and I like that they talk to the author - not just about their book, but other stuff that may not be the most serious topics. It's great!

Entertaining
Enjoyable hour of chatter about books among friends. Generally speaking they have good authors as guests. I could do without the book reports however. Jeanne and Torie are top notch

Oh, how I have missed you
Just catching up on the 3 new episodes. Welcome back — my To Be Read pile gets smarter and better every time I tune in. (Does one tune in to a podcast?)

Learned to love you both through TK’s show. This episode was absolutely fantastic. Missed you guys when you were off this summer. Keep up the great entertainment.

Love Torie
Love Torie, but shy away from this because of that annoying priss, Michael Kornheiser.

Easy listen to learn more about authors
Torie and crew keep it light & humorous with random thought, wine and cheese reviews and great variety of authors with interesting stories!!!

Nice
I listened to an episode on a whim and didn't expect much. In fact, I honestly thought 'what fresh hell is this?' However, enjoying the TK show sometimes and being familiar with the voices, I decided to try it. I like it. I laughed out loud a couple of times which is rare for me when listening to podcasts. I'm looking forward to going through the back catalog and reading some of the books they've discussed.

So much noise out there, but THIS is a true gem....
Granted being a long time TK, Torie, Michael, Jeanne and David nerds......helps. But.... The quality conversation, content and weekly diverse and stunning guests make a Tuesday must download. Thoroughly Smart, Fun and Insightful. Well (???), all those attributes come from mostly Michael and David, but family is family. Really like this pod.

A transplanted DC to NYC & retired Librarian I love this podcast. Just like DC intelligent book talk with real people. Am now reading Love You Hard and am reveling in it as my mother’s family from Southern Maryland...love the show

Fantastic Show
The "regular gang" are so entertaining and interesting that I could just listen to them each episode. Add to that the Author's, recommendations, and "book reports" and this podcast becomes one of my most enjoyable listens of the week.

Dinner with friends
Chatter on Books feels like a dinner party conversation not a podcast. Even the featured authors each episode blend seamlessly into the casual, easy going, rabbit trail nature of the show. Truly the best addition to my subscription list in a long time!
Chip Robinson
Great mix
Take books and politics and English majors and authors and put them in a bar to talk - nothing could go wrong.

Listen with pen in hand
You’ll be entertained by the conversation and storytelling, but after the show is over you’ll wish you had written down new titles to add to your reading list.
