I had a long hiatus between teaching, being a SAHM, then returning to the classroom. Where I’m at, we don’t have art teacher team meetings, or districtwide meetings for art teachers. Finding this podcast has filled all the voids. I get continuing education, plus a good dose of what feels like friendly banter amongst art teachers. What we art teachers do on the daily is different from other teaching disciplines. Listening in on the AME podcasts assures me I’m not alone. Also, they inspire me to do even more!

Art Made Easy always has the best podcasts. I learn so much each time I listen. Listening to the growth process of Meri’s studio was so insightful. I learned much of what I can do to help my own art studio grow.

Just spent 51 minutes waiting to learn about acrylics and literally heard nothing about working with acrylics. At 51 minutes the question involved what is the best brand for children? Blah. I’m a grownup who wanted to learn for me - not children. Nothing what I thought and useless.

I've been a huge fan of Patty's work for a few years now, and was drawn to her passion and warmth when speaking about kids and their art. I'm a homeschooler and adore her projects and ideas for my kids, and so many things that she speaks about have relevance in how I relate to my kids, not just with art, but in other things as well. Listening to her in the morning over my cup of coffee is like having a friend over in the morning who gives you a hug and says, "You can do this!". When you stand in front of a classroom of kids and feel like you’re all alone...it’s normal to feel that way, but it’s not the whole story!! Anytime I put on the “Art Made Easy” podcast, whether I’m painting in my studio or listening for a few minutes while setting up materials between 2nd & 1st grade art classes at the elementary school, I can connect to others who are walking along the same route with me. We try to teach our kids to open their minds and trust the art process we’re showing them, but it’s so hard to use our own imaginations to fight our Art Teacher Battles! We fight to stay motivated, to have energy for new ideas and endless setup, and it’s no surprise we forget about one of our biggest resources: other art teachers. I'm an artist and former teacher, I decided to be a "stay-at-home mom" (even though we were always out and about) while my kids were little, now that they are in school I want to start an online art ed business. For the last 7 years while my babies were young, I have brainstormed many ideas and now I'm ready to work! I just didn't know where to start. So I started with the Art Made Easy podcast, I listen & take notes while I make art. Every day I feel inspired, motivated, and encouraged by Patty, not only in the world of businees and art education, but also just in life. So much of what she says applies to not only teaching to your fullest ability but also living life to your fullest ability! There are just not enough words to thank Patty for helpng me find my way. After being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, I felt like I was so behind, and listening to Patty is helping me get caught up! I’ve been listening to Art Made Easy for a couple of years now. It is one of my favorite podcasts! I initially began listening to it as I began a new chapter in my life as an art teacher. While there is so much great information for art teachers there’s also a lot of great advise and inspiration for non art teachers as well.

I'm new to Art Made Easy, so I'm excited to spend my summer break catching up on episodes! This podcast has lifted my head when I've felt discouraged, and inspired me to continue doing what I'm meant to do and what I love. Thank you, Patty! This podcast has given me life. I listened to several episodes last week on a trip and the car ride passed by so quickly! This morning I listened to it at the gym, and I found myself not paying attention to the time on the treadmill. :) I'm excited that I can listen to content I love and also count it as professional development. Patty, you have given me so many ideas for my classroom and encouraged me to try out some new supplies! Thank you for helping me to see things in a new and different light. I haven't felt the butterfly feeling of excitement for teaching since I started teaching 8 years ago and I FINALLY have that feeling back after listening to these podcasts. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. I will be teaching K-5 after teaching high school art for 8 years. I am so excited to start implementing some of the ideas I’ve been hearing, ESPECIALLY the classroom management & first day/week episode ideas. Each episode I listen to sparks another idea that I want to try in my classroom. I have had so many AHA moments and can’t stop talking about it with friends and family. Thank you Patty for giving me my mojo back and helping me figure out this new world of teaching little ones. I can’t wait to create with them!

Love everything you said. The word for me is Balance. But for my kids in class I think I will use the word LOVE... All you need is love.... If you come to anyone with love in your heart, it will always win. I defused a student today that was so upset, crying about another boy in my class. I pulled him aside and told him to chill out on my rug. We talked and by the end of the class we were laughing about his artwork. Thanks for a great pod cast.

I started as a volunteer parent in my kid's classes, and now with the aid of these podcasts and the Deep Space Sparkle website, I have navigated my way to becoming a part time art specialist in 3 different schools and working with Kindergarten to 6th grade students. The guests on her show range from Teachers, Authors and Artists. The listeners can range from a parent who is thinking about doing a few art projects with their own children, to a seasoned art teacher. Everyone can benefit from the podcast. One thing that I love the most is Patty's laid back style of interviewing the guest speakers. Her vulnerability is what makes her such a terrific host in her interviews. I save ART MADE EASY podcasts and listen to them for inspiration in my teaching as well as inspiration in my personal growth with my own art.

I enjoy listening to all of Patty Palmer’ s “Art Made Easy “ Podcasts, but the podcast about overwhelm was exactly what I needed to hear as a new art teacher. Patty’s style in her podcasts is so friendly and folksy as if she’s just sitting across the table from you and talking to you alone. Her podcasts helped me not to know I was not alone and reinventing the wheel all by myself. She has such practical and well thought out information in her podcasts, but she also does interviews with other art educators who are also very inspiring. I would recommend her podcasts for anyone interested in art, but particularly if you want to pass on your passion to children. Thank you Patty!

I had taught Patty's lessons for a few years, but I began listening to the podcasts when I needed advice regarding classroom management in the art room. I actually sited Patty as a source for one of my graduate papers from that podcast. The podcasts have great tips and advice given from her many years of classroom experience.

I’ve been following DSS (Deep Space Sparkle) over the past year and listening to every podcast that I can possibly listen to. I love Patty Palmer’s sparkling presentations, her incites and all of her very interesting, helpful topics. She interviews all kinds of amazing art teachers from all over the world, as well. As an artist and art teacher I love learning from all of these different teachers. I can’t recommend these podcasts more highly!!

This podcast is great because we need Patty, we need collaboration, mentors, ideas from other art teachers. However, I'm still waiting for her to address the large proportion of art teachers working in title I environments (a whole new ball game), those working as itinerants, and those with little or no planning time in non tenure, non union states.

I really love listening to Art Make easy during the rare quiet time at my house. My 3 year old specifically requests to listen to it when he is winding down for his nap. I find it wonderfully refreshing and a joy for my creative well to have on when I am sitting down to put my little people to sleep.

Hearing Patty speak about art education is like listening to a good friend share everything she knows about teaching elementary Art. Her delivery is conversational and self-effacing and so very generous. She is full of joy and her enthusiasm is contagious for new and experienced teachers alike. I have enjoyed all of her topics and guests and especially appreciate all of the PDF handouts she provides to supplement her content. I am so glad that Patty has decided to continue Art Made Easy into a second season and anticipate new content that will continue to enlighten and inspire!

As a new art teacher deep space sparkle has been invaluable to be over the past year. I am thrilled with the new podcast by Patty. Being the only art teacher in my school limits the conversations I can have about what I do but this podcast is such an encouragement!
